Boxer Dog Black. When the striping on a brindle Boxer is so concentrated as to overwhelm the fawn the dog can appear black particularly when its a puppy. A male can stand as high as 25 inches at the shoulder.

According to the American Boxer Club. This creates the illusion of being black and the difference is close enough for most people. As you can see this fawn is darker and deeper than that the common tan fawn.
