What is a Cherry Eye. This bulge is typically in the corner nearest the nose and similar in shape and color to a cherry pit hence the nickname. Your dogs eye may become dry and irritated and red and inflamed as a result. The third eyelid usually protects the eye but sometimes it moves out of place and becomes irritated.
