Great Pyrenees Dog. The Great Pyrenees is a massive white dog that was historically used as a flock guardian watching over and protecting sheep from any threats including theft and predators. The outer coat is long coarse and either straight or slightly wavy.

With coats that are long thick and double layered grooming can be a chore in itself. The undercoat is fine soft and thick. Combining elegance with great strength the majestic Great Pyrenees is used to turning heads.

Most Great Pyrenees have long waterproof coats of all white although some have markings of grey reddish brown or tan. For thousands of years the Great Pyrenees was the dog of peasant livestock farmers. Their head is not large compared to the rest of the body and has flattened sides. And their puppies are the sweetest.
