Maltese Dog Breed. The little ones have existed for nearly or more than three thousand years. This breed generally not used as a therapy dog.

This breed can be difficult to housebreak and they tend to be finicky eaters. They have been esteemed for centuries as companion dogs. It weighs from four to seven pounds and stands eight to ten inches tall at the shoulder.

The Maltese is known as the oldest of all dog breeds and the oldest of European toy breeds.

The American Kennel Club officially recognized the breed in 1888 and its risen in popularity amongst American families and dog show aficionados alike. He is gentle-mannered and affectionate eager and sprightly in. In fact they are so old no records exist chronicling the exact history. The Maltese is a breed of dog in the toy group.
