Shed Dog Hair

Shed Dog Hair. At the end of the growing phase the hairs fall off resulting in shedding. Likewise hair shedding is also due to change seasons for some canines.

Similar to the Yorkshire Terrier the Shih Tzu is a dog with long silky hair and they only tend to shed when brushing. Dogs with thick coats can shed several handfuls of fur each day in the last weeks of the fall to make room for the thicker winter coat. They have long wavy coats that are fine and very profuse.

If your dog does not she any hair at all we recommend going to the veterinarian for a checkup as this is not normal.
